Writing and Perseverance

Susan Jarnagin writes under the pen names Renee Russell and Darcy McKenna. Her articles and short stories have appeared in publications that include The Commercial Appeal and Absolute Write.

She made her debut as a novelist, this year, with Kate's Pride (Wings ePress, 2007).

In a recent interview, she spoke about her writing.

How many books have you written so far?

Writing as Renee Russell, I have Kate's Pride which came out in January. My second novel, working title Fated Love has recently been sold to Wild Rose Press with the publication date to be announced -- the pen name for that novel will be Darcy McKenna. I'm at work on Novel #3 and Novel #4 right now.

Why the pen names?

I chose to use two different pen names because when I pick up a book by a particular author I'm expecting a particular kind of story.

Wells Fargo Launches Home Rebate Card(SM) to Help Mortgage ...

SAN FRANCISCO, April 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) announced today that it has launched the Wells Fargo Home Rebate Card(SM) -- a special credit card product only for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage customers who want to pay down their mortgage faster, build equity quicker and potentially save thousands of dollars on mortgage interest. Wells Fargo will begin promoting the card through in-store merchandising during its Spring Into Action campaign, which starts April 16 and focuses on financial solutions for the home.

"The Wells Fargo Home Rebate Card is another innovative product that can help our customers make smart use of their money and help them succeed financially," said Peter Ho, Wells Fargo Home Rebate Card product manager. "Our pilot program showed us that our mortgage customers understand that with this card their day-to-day spending is better managed, better protected and better rewarded."

Virtually every purchase (purchases minus returns/credits) customers make with the card counts toward 1 percent rebate credited to the principal on their Wells Fargo Home Mortgage loan.

Looking Ahead: What Now?

With the Montreal Canadiens season officially over, there are plenty of questions being asked with few little answers. One of these questions is simply, What now? Where does a team - who before Christmas held down forth place in the Eastern Conference - go after such a horrible slump and ultimate ousting from the playoffs in their final game?

The Habs free-fall in the standings isnt exactly a new occurrence for the team. If you recall the 2005-2006 season, Montreal suffered a dry spell as well, one that ultimately cost Coach Claude Julien his job and lead to the emergence of Cristobal Huet as the teams number one goaltender. Last year was different, though; Montreal actually made the post season by finishing seventh in the East.

They say bad things come in threes. GM Bob Gainey certainly wont want to see his club spiral down in the standings for the third straight season next year.
