| COMPUTER CORNER: Do not trust unknown e-mails and links
I get asked a lot about viruses and spyware. Removing those probably makes up 95 percent of the computer repairs I do. Unfortunately, combating these things is a way of life for the average Windows user. Recently I heard a tale of identity theft that was most likely due to information being sent over the PC. It fs really sad that people who are obviously decent at programming choose to spend their time writing malicious programs instead of useful ones. I fve had the conspiracy theorists tell me that maybe antivirus developers are writing viruses. After all, that creates job security for them! Well, I don ft know about all of that but I do know that dealing with these things is a constant thorn in the side of the person who just wants to surf the web and check their email. Email seems to be the preferred way to try and grab your personal information.
Donovan, family say Gainesville is home
GAINESVILLE — Florida coach Billy Donovan ended two weeks of speculation Thursday by announcing that he will stay in Gainesville for the indefinite future. Donovan met Thursday morning with Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley and told his boss he was happy and had no plans to leave for the University of Kentucky or anywhere else. .
