Eating them up: Locksley returns for some home cooking.

Pop-rock band Locksley's relocation to New York City and recent national exposure on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" as well as a full-page feature in Spin magazine hasn't dulled their taste for hometown cooking.

When the four Madison West High School grads return to town for a gig - and they will this Saturday (April 7) at the Annex - the only thing longer than their setlist is the restaurant list.

"Since we've been out to New York we've moved from apartment to apartment every year, so Madison still feels like home. Whenever we come back we try to eat as much as possible," says Jesse Laz-Hirsch, the lead singer and rhythm guitar player. "I love Dotty Dumplings. Hubbard Avenue Diner has that amazing chicken chili. We all love Culver's, too. I love Laredo's."

(When drummer Sam Bair is asked for his favorite Madison restaurant he says "One place? Really?" then quickly reels off three names before settling on Alt'N'Bachs.

Positive Thoughts- Why Think Positively?

Hundreds of thousands of books must been written in all the languages about positive thinking? Every second book on self-development invariably has a chapter on positive thinking. Why? Why so much importance is being given to positive thinking? What are the reasons? Does positive thinking really help? Many people believe that by thinking positively nothing changes. They think that this is an invention of some fertile imaginations to sell more books and make money. Is that true? Do you want to see books on why you should think negatively? Will that help us at all?

Home shopping network: Not your mom's Tupperware party

Somewhere nearby, if not this very moment then surely very soon, a group of women will gather. They'll probably be in a living room or kitchen, passing hors d'oeuvres and perhaps sipping wine. One of them will be selling something, and the rest will be spending money.

Such is the home shopping party, an event that's part socializing, part shopping and, essentially, all about women.

Women like Annette MacClugage of Orange County, who a few months back became an adviser for Lia Sophia jewelry. Her most recent party was held at Jerry's restaurant in Middletown. Another woman was the hostess, and she invited a couple dozen friends. The group noshed and chatted, then quieted down to hear MacClugage's presentation. At evening's end, the party guests (21 women and one man) spent $1,500, the hostess was rewarded with an array of jewelry and discounts to buy more, and MacClugage earned a tidy sum herself.

Money as a caste tool

"Money is like an iron ring we've put through our noses. We've forgotten that we designed it, and now it is leading us around." Bernard Lietaer, Belgian currency expert History Money is a relatively recent invention for the human species. How did they get along before that? In a small tribe there were work roles for everyone. If someone slacked social pressure could bring them into line. There was a pecking order. Alpha males got the first crack at the kill. Between groups there was barter.

Later, with the rise of civilisations there was a caste system. Depending on which caste you were born into, you received different privilege and access to goods. Money As A Caste Tool "The poverty of our century is unlike that of any other. It is not, as poverty was before, the result of natural scarcity, but of a set of priorities imposed upon the rest of the world by the rich.

This can't be allowed to happen to anyone ever again

Talks are to be held on the future of pen tops, following the choking death of schoolboy Ben Stirland.

As an inquest into the tragedy was held, it was revealed Ben's mum Nathalie Hodgson is fighting to ban them.

She is due to meet with the British Standards Institute, a quality improvement body, and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents next month.

Representatives of the Writing Instruments Association, the pen-makers association, are also expected to be there.
