| Who are the richest people in Uganda?
INGENUITY, not industry, is the common characteristic of the people who have featured in our rich list. These people made money in everything from media and real estate to coffee, farming and road haulage. The list is not limited to Ugandans and it includes individuals and families born overseas, but who predominantly work and/or live in Uganda.
We have measured identifiable wealth, whether land, property or significant shares in publicly quoted companies and we have excluded bank accounts to which we have no access.
There are probably a number of other wealthy individuals or families that we cannot know about because we have no way of ascertaining their wealth. They not only keep a low profile, but also avoid anything that will associate themselves with wealth.
'Money Mammals' will teach tots about finances
That's the motto of four thrifty puppets who will be sharing their financial advice with children Friday at a local credit union. In honor of Financial Literacy Month, Rogue Federal Credit Union will host a live puppet show and screening of "The Money Mammals: Saving Money Is Fun" DVD at 4:30 p.m. April 13 at the credit union's South Gateway branch, 1370 Center Drive, Medford. The show is designed to help children learn the value of money and what it means to spend money wisely. Puppets Joe the Monkey and Piggs the Bank will sing songs with the audience and be available for pictures along with John Lanza, creator and co-producer of the DVD and producer of the TV show "Life With Louie." .
Is There Hope For The Working Parent?
Is there hope for the working parent? Absolutely. But to experience change you have to take an active role in implementing change. Starting a home based business is not a "quick fix". There is no "Get Rich Scheme". You can try other "business" opportunities that promise huge income in a very short time. You will be disappointed. Having a successful home based business requires work. It is up to you how much time and effort you are willing to invest. You will get out what you put in. Remember that you are building something for your future. My future is looking very bright and I have PIPS to thank.
