Is There Hope For The Working Parent?

Is there hope for the working parent? Absolutely. But to experience change you have to take an active role in implementing change. Starting a home based business is not a "quick fix". There is no "Get Rich Scheme". You can try other "business" opportunities that promise huge income in a very short time. You will be disappointed. Having a successful home based business requires work. It is up to you how much time and effort you are willing to invest. You will get out what you put in. Remember that you are building something for your future. My future is looking very bright and I have PIPS to thank.

Disaster Meeting

Today Senator Kent Conrad is meeting with farmers and ranchers from the area to discuss his disaster aid bill that passed the house and senate. The details of the bill call for about four-point-two billion dollars in disaster relief. About two hundred million dollars of this will be coming to North Dakota. Senator Conrad says one compromise made in the bill is that farmers and ranchers will have to choose to take relief for either 2005 or 2006.(Sen. Kent Conrad/ D-ND)"It's gonna make a big difference. This is not a Cadillac plan it's more of a chevrolet plan but it's going to make a meaningful difference to an awful lot of people in North Dakota." This news comes at the right time for many of these farmers and ranchers. This is when they are beginning to prepare for the upcoming growing season.

"Housing nightmare tarnishes the American dream," says a report from Reuters.

Meanwhile, the Financial Times quotes Martin Eakes - chief economist at Self-Help, who estimates that 2.2 million Americans could lose their homes to foreclosure.

That's the general narrative. But now for the plot twist.

What we will soon hear more about is the way that the pain of all this falls disproportionately on Blacks and Hispanics.

Abe's Sex-Slavery Comments Marginalize Japan at Talks (Update1)

March 20 (Bloomberg) -- Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's denial that Japan forced Korean and other Asian women into sexual slavery during World War II has marginalized his country at the six-nation talks to end North Korea's nuclear weapons program.

Japan wants North Korea to address the kidnapping of Japanese citizens 30 years ago before it provides energy aid as part of the talks in Beijing this week. Abe's comments on the forced prostitution have given the communist country the excuse not to address the subject.

``Abe has shot himself, and Japan, in both feet,'' said Kenneth Quinones, former U.S. State Department director of North Korean affairs and a professor at Akita International University in Japan. ``The hardliners in Pyongyang are thrilled. They can now blunt progress in their talks with Japan and point to Abe's remarks as their excuse.''

Abe's recent comments playing down Japan's role in forcing as many as 200,000 women into sexual slavery during World War II weren't directly addressed by participants in the disarmament talks.
