| Jim Rice Likes Money; Advocates Cheating
Jim Rice was recently invited by the owner of the Pawtucket Red Sox - the big league's Rhode Island affiliate - to a luncheon and the former Red Sox outfielder took part in a Q&A. Here's some of the advice that he had for the minor leaguers:"This is my 36th year of marriage to the same woman," he said. "If I had to do it all over again, I would have been divorced 10 years or 20 years ago because I would have been at the ballpark. There is so much money now to be made in the game of baseball, and you have this ability to play the game, why not take advantage of it? It's out there. Go get it. They're not going to give it to you; you've got to earn it.""I don't want a cup of coffee. I don't want a doughnut. I want the American Express Gold. I was talking with Manny (Ramirez) and Manny was telling me this: Jimmy, everyone is talking about me selling my grill.
How your home can share energy
EAGLE - Imagine this: Instead of sending the utilities company a check next winter when the temperatures plummet, it sends you one. Better still, imagine a new heating system that keeps paying you for years to come. It's happening right now in the Eagle Valley. A handful of individuals are making money through energy efficiency. A perfect example is a single-family home under construction at 390 Bluffs Drive in Eagle's Bluffs subdivision. The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home is a model of "green" building. The house has a 4-kilowatt photovoltaic solar energy system. On a sunny day, the stored energy sends the home's electric meter running backwards. "The second the owner flipped the switch, he's saving money," says contractor Eric Wardell of Ute Creek Custom Homes.
Logitech G5 Laser Mouse (2007)
The 2005 Logitech G5 Laser Mouse lost out because it had only one thumb-side button. We're pleased to announce that we finally have an award winner. Logitech's new $60 G5 Laser Mouse (same name as the original) finally has two thumb buttons, as well as an updated laser sensor. It's still not perfect, but it's close enough that we'd recommend it to any serious PC gamer. Aside from the added button, the core design of the G5 hasn't changed much. Like the original, the mouse has two distinct features. The first is a bundled weight kit. A small plastic tray slides out from the bottom of the mouse and lets you add any combination of 8, 1.7 gram, and 4.5 gram metal weights. Any extra weights can go in the included tin designed to carry them. The idea is that the weights let you tailor the feel of the mouse to your preference.
